Renewing Your Xbox Live Account for Fun and Profit

Posted by on Oct 3, 2010

A few months ago, word came out of Microsoft’s Entertainment division that, effective November 1st, the Xbox Live Gold subscription fees would be increasing in price.  The yearly subscription has been set to go up from $50 to $60 in the US, with the monthly and three month subscriptions seeing similar increases. That would be reason enough to upgrade before the end of the month, but Microsoft has just sweetened the deal, making it almost mandatory that current subscribers upgrade ASAP.

Hit it for the deets.

From now until the end of the month, current Gold subscribers who renew for two years will not only get nearly %20 off the current price, they will also get 1600 free Microsoft points!  That’s $84 for 2 years and $20 worth of MS points.  As far as fine print, you have to extend your subscription through the Live interface on your Xbox console to get the deal, and the points expire next July.  Thought I’d give everyone the heads up.
