Alice: Madness Returns in 2011
So I know this site is called Nerd News And Reviews, but I think we need to add a third category. This isn’t a review, and it certainly isn’t news, since it was apparently announced in July, but I was happy to learn about it today, so here it is. EA has “just announced” that in 2011 they will be releasing American McGee’s Alice: Madness Returns, which is a follow-up to American McGee’s Alice, released in 2000. Now for those of you who don’t actually know me, you should know that I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland. It is my favorite book (along with Through the Looking Glass) and I am generally far too into any property that has anything at all to do with it. By the way, if anyone wants to buy me a copy of the edition illustrated by Salvador Dali for Christmas, I would say many nice things about you on the internet.
More about Alice: Madness Returns, as well as the trailer, after the break.
The game appropriately takes place about ten years after the events of the original. Alice has been released from the insane asylum that she was committed to after the death of her parents. After trying to adjust to life in London, she attempts to escape to Wonderland once again, but finds it overrun with a new, mysterious evil. She must find the root of this evil that has corrupted her once beautiful refuge and save Wonderland. Alice should be released sometime in 2011.
