The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle

The Humble Bundle

“The Humble Bundle” has twice now given gamers an opportunity to pick up several indie, DRM-free games at a “pay what you want” price while supporting charity.  For those of you keeping score at home, it’s a win-win-win-win scenario.  The third and newest bundle features games developed exclusively by the Finnish company Frozenbyte.  Hit the jump for a trailer and details on which games (and what potential savings) you can get for yourself (or a friend!).

The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle“, as it’s been dubbed, contains three previously released games, one previously unreleased game, and one abandoned prototype from days gone by.  The standout of the package is definitely Trine, a platformer with an interesting fantasy twist.  Also included are Shadowgrounds and (it’s expansion) Shadowgrounds: Survivor.

Although the war being waged between digital “ownership” and convenience of content access is an entirely different can of worms, you have to appreciate what these guys are doing.  Upon purchase of a “Humble Bundle”, you are sent a unique link from which you can download (as many times on as many machines as you want) your new, DRM-free games.  You will ALSO be sent a code with which to redeem those “Bundle” games which are available on Steam.  For no extra charge.  You do the math.
