Kate from LOST to join cast of ‘The Hobbit’
Kate was one of the most compelling, intricate, and downright sexy characters in the hit TV series LOST. Played by Evangeline Lilly, her character captured (and often times broke) the hearts of the two manly-men male leads, Jack and Sawyer, along with the hearts of fans across the globe. Now, Lilly is back, and will be playing the Elf Tauriel in Peter Jackson’s two part film project of The Hobbit. Here are Jackson’s own words about the casting (taken directly from The Hobbit Movie site):
“Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means ‘daughter of Mirkwood’ and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.”
So all you LOST fans, if you were not already excited about The Hobbit films (shame on you if that is the case), you have no excuse now. Look for the first film to be released in December 2012.
