Last night, three members of the NNAR team went to see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Why, you ask? Because it was preceded by the first six minutes of The Dark Knight Rises! The third (and final) Batman installment will be released in the summer of 2012, a full four years after The Dark Knight, but we just couldn’t wait.
The first six minutes introduces Bane, a powerful masked villain who clearly has few qualms about crushing his enemies into oblivion, and hints at the epic scale of this film. Check out the video of our thoughts after the jump.
Say what you will about the recognizability or historical significance of any other DC Comics character, but there’s only one whose book the company named themselves after. And it ain’t this one. After Detective Comics #27 introduced “The Bat-Man” in May of 1939, he soon became the star of the title and, arguably, the company’s most successful character. As much as we were looking forward to, and have been pleasantly surprised by, several titles in DC’s The New 52, there was never any doubt that the entire endeavor would succeed or fail based on the strength of one comic. Haven’t checked it out yet? Leave it to Someone Old (Tom) and Someone New (Jon) to convince you why you should.
Legendary Entertainment has just released a motion comic-esque trailer for Frank Miller’s upcoming graphic novel Holy Terror. Originally titled Holy Terror, Batman! (Burt Ward’s Robin FTW), the book was meant to be a story in which The Caped Crusader fought Al-Qaeda. Yes, you read that right.
