Yesterday, the first official trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit Part 1 was released. We here at NNAR, to put it modestly, are really frickin‘ excited for Tolkien’s prequel to LOTR to hit the big screen. Those cast members new to Middle Earth include Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Evangeline Lilly. Many actors are returning to work with Jackson on this project, namely Ian Mckellan and Andy Serkis (who is also co-directing). Over the next year, re-reading of Bilbo’s epic tale is a must. But for now, wet your whistle with this short video. Read more
Adapted from the eponymous book by Lin Qianyu, Detective Dee and The Mystery of The Phantom Flame is a slightly fictionalized account of Tang Dynasty official Dí Rénjié. And, by slightly, I mean they’ve turned it into a steampunk kung-fu supernatural detective story. Wait, what?
I know, I know, it was only a week ago I was talking about Daft Punk. But they’re back – oh man, are they back. On October 26th, a new trailer was released for TRON: Legacy, and since the robotic pair scored the film, it’s only appropriate that the trailer also function as a music video for one of the songs on the soundtrack.

Frank Darabont’s television adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic series The Walking Dead is finally almost here. People like me have been excited about this for over a year, and now it’s close enough to taste. Maybe not the best wording to use when discussing flesh-eating zombies, but there it is.
Get the gory details, and the trailer, after the jump. Read more
Alright, kids, I hope you have your big-boy pants on, because today it gets rough – today we introduce the Throwdown. Contributors and readers alike are not only invited but encouraged to throw in their two cents, not just once but as many times as you like, until your opinion on the day’s question has been thoroughly expressed. Now, obviously, this could get real ugly real quick, but here at Nerd News And Reviews we like to think that we’re a pretty classy outfit, so try to keep the flaming of other readers to a minimum, or at least keep it on topic. In other words, we don’t need to hear about politics or religion.
The first Throwdown topic: The Goon movie, the trailer, and specifically the casting of the main characters. Hit the jump to enter the fray. Read more
